- The Scottish Government maintains digital boundaries for the designated areas of Scotland's National Parks. Scotland currently has two National Parks, Cairngorms and Loch Lomond and the Trossachs. The aim of Scotland's National Parks is to deliver better management of areas of outstanding natural and cultural heritage. This is achieved by the conservation and enhancement of natural and cultural heritage, promotion of sustainable use of natural resources, promotion of public understanding and enjoyment (including recreation), and promotion of sustainable social and economic development of the communities of the area. These boundaries are used for the provision of relevant statistics and to inform policy development.
