Overview

Environmental studies conducted by an independent team of scientists for El Paso Natural Gas Company in connection with a proposed nuclear fracturing experiment and two massive hydraulic fracturing experiments, which were designed to test the feasibility of stimulating natural gas flow in sandstone formations of low permeability, are summarized. Studies of vegetation, aquatic, non-domestic mammalian populations, and avian populations are described. (TFD)
