Overviewkmd
This paper describes a two-dimensional numerical model for simulating the pressure distribution and air flow in a tar sand bed as a result of air injection into the middle line of a linear nine well pattern. The method of lines is used to solve the nonlinear differential equation describing the flow. The effects of injection pressure and well radius on the air flux are reported. The results are presented in context of field study of oil recovery from tar sands by reverse combustion.
