Overview

The primary objectives of this program was: (1) to determine the relationships between fluid injection practices, regional geology and stress regime, and the occurrence of earthquakes; (2) to identify waste-disposal strategies for injection that reduce and minimize the triggering of seismic activity, or that ensure that seismic activity is confined to low-magnitude, harmless events.
